Surprisingly, the world has become more fiercely competitive and uncertain than it was when I wrote this article in October 2019. More so for the young generations. Social media seems to have taken over our lives as the young get addicted to posting, likes and comments. They forget that some things are too personal to be shared on platforms and that this has consequences. Many of them are trying to look as if they are having their act together when actually, in the real world, they are struggling to make ends meet like the majority of us; in a tight economy and a rapidly changing and uncertain world. The older generation is struggling to have genuine conversations with the young even about important matters concerning them. I feel that we , the seniors, still have the collective responsibility to help and guide the young into living out the best approach to life: being real. A satisfying life is lived moment by moment- savoured and appreciated for what it is , absorbing what it is offering you and making sense of it all. The good and the ugly, for that is what life is made of. As you learn from the experiences of each stage in your life, you grow and improve yourself and are able to be more useful to yourself and your community. Always remember that your values and goals are your life’s compass.
WE LIVE IN A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE WORLD
